கடந்த இரண்டு வருடமா கோபி இல்லேன்னா வீட்டுல ஒரு துரும்பும் அசையாது. மேல்நிலை பள்ளி படிச்ச இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளுமே வீட்டின் முழுப் பொறுப்பும் எடுத்துக் கொண்டான். விருந்தினர் உறவினர் நண்பர்கள் யார் வந்தாலும் அவங்களுக்கும் வேண்டியதை உரிய முறையில் செய்திடுவான்.

பேருதான் கோபியே தவிர யார்ட்டயும் கோபிக்கவே மாட்டான்.

யாருக்கும் உதவும் குணமும் பொறுமையும் சிரிச்ச முகமும் அவனுக்கு சிறப்பு கோபி நாளை கோவையில் கல்லூரிக்கு சென்றபின் இந்த வீட்டின் முறைமை எவ்வளவு சிரமப்படும் எனத்தெரியவில்லை.

கோபி சென்ற இடத்திலும் சிறந்த மாணவனாகவும் நல்ல நண்பனாகவும் தோழனாகவும் தேவையானவர்களுக்கு உதவுபவனாகவும் இருப்பான் என்பது நிச்சயம்.

PREFACE

Educating and guiding the younger generation to become enlightened citizens of our country in future is indeed a Herculean task. Nowadays all the students have to pass through a crucial stage after passing Higher Secondary examinations. Thousands of students from remote rural areas find it very difficult to choose correct courses after passing the +2 examination.

Even now, there are thousands of first generation learners in our country. They try to come up in their life from various clutches like poverty, ignorance and superstition. Such students are not in a position to get the proper guidance from the experienced persons in their respective fields in this regard. A large number of students especially from rural areas are compelled to select their career much against their wishes; thereby they are forced to lead their whole life with shattered dreams.

Presently some voluntary organizations and media persons render yeoman service to the younger generation. They are very helpful to the students in cities and urban areas. On the other hand, the students in rural areas are not able to avail themselves of the opportunities provided by these agencies in a fruitful way.

We have constituted a committee consisting of experienced persons from various walks of life. They have collected valuable information about these courses and compiled it into a Handbook to help the students. We have decided to distribute the copies of this to all schools, voluntary organizations and public libraries free of cost.
We expect wholehearted support to our endeavour from experienced teachers and educated parents and use our Handbook to serve the younger generation in a fruitful way. Teaching :

Teaching profession is nobler than many other careers. “If there is somebody who leaves an eternal wealth to the human society, they are only the teachers” is a Tamil saying. Thus the value of the service of the teachers is immeasurable. Following are various grades in teaching profession.

The educational qualifications vary according to the type of this profession. To become a nursery school teacher, one should undergo a Montessori teacher training course after completing Plus Two.

Some universities offer 4 year integrated B.Sc., Ed. and B.A., Ed. programmes which can be done after +2.

To become a teaching professional, one should possess the following personal qualities, in addition to administrative and instructive skills, punctuality in planned proposals, good communication skills with correct pronunciation.

Sustained demand for qualified C.A candidates.

II. The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India. (ICWAI)
Qualification : +2
There is a sustained demand for qualified, trained and experienced Cost
Accountants.

III. Catering Science & Hotel Management

Qualification: +2 Age limit 17 Years
Duration of the course: 3 years
Employment opportunities are more both in India & Abroad.

IV. Merchant Navy

Qualification: +2
Duration of the course : 4 years
Job opportunities are more in India & Other countries.

V. Pilot :-

To become a pilot, a candidate must have the minimum qualification of +2.

Training and selection procedure :

The following training procedures are followed in the selection of pilot.

a. Student Pilot License (S.P.L)

The candidates who have successfully completed +2 can apply for this. There is a written examination in which questions are asked on Air Regulations, Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Aircraft and Flight Engines. There is also a physical eligibility test to ensure that the candidates have good health, good vision, good hearing and no physical handicap. After passing these two tests, the candidate should undergo a practical training in flying. An SPL holder, after completing 15 hours of flying with a flying instructor, can go for solo flight.

b. Private Pilot License (PPL)
Those who have successfully completed the SPL training can apply for this PPL. In this stage also, the candidates have to write a written examination. In the practical training they should complete 40 hours of cross country flights. A PPL holder can fly with a passenger for pleasure.

c. Commercial Pilot License (CPL)

Those who have got SPL and PPL are eligible to apply for getting CPL. In this stage a candidate should complete 190 hours of flying which includes 150 hours solo, 25 hours cross country, 10 hours instrument flying and 5 hours night flying. Also he/she must appear for the following tests:
1. An entrance exam at PPL Standard.
2. A Reasoning test.
3. A Pilot Aptitude test.
4. An interview.

[Nowadays one more licence, namely, Current Flight Radio Telephone Operator Licence (CFRTOL) is considered a must for becoming a pilot]

VI JOURNALISM

To become a journalist, a candidate must have the art of expressing the information in an interesting manner. Also he/she should have the flair for writing, general knowledge and awareness, good imagination, accurate power, clear thoughts and good communication skills. A course in journalism or mass communication is considered a preferable qualification to become a journalist.

Qualification:

The above said general requirements with an educational qualification of +2 are enough for becoming a journalist. Also candidates can study a degree course in journalism or mass communication after +2 to shine well in this profession. They can do the post graduate course in journalism. A knowledge of shorthand will be very helpful to journalists in their area of work.

பொதிகை PGB நண்பர்கள் நலச்சங்கத்தில் உறுப்பினரான பின் முதலில் திரு S.A.இஸ்மாயில் அவர்கள் பணிநிறைவு பிரிவுபசார விழாவிற்குதான் சென்றேன். ஆனால் அப்பொழுது நான் விருதுநகரில் பணியாற்றி வந்ததால் மாலையில் தான் வந்து சேர முடிந்தது. இரவு விருந்தில் கலந்து கொண்டு பின் வீடு திரும்பினேன். அதனால் விழாவைப் பற்றிய ஒரு கருத்தும் இல்லாதிருந்தது.

பின் கடந்த மே மாதம் நெடுவயல் கிளைக்கு மாற்றலாகி வந்தபின் ஜூன் மாதம் என்று எண்ணுகிறேன் திரு எம். சுப்ரம்ணியன் அவர்களின் பணிநிறைவு பிரிவுபசார விழாவில் தான் முழுமையாக கலந்து கொண்டேன்.

அதுவரை நடந்த பிரிவுபசார விழாக்களில் நிழற்படமோ வீடியோவோ எடுக்கப் படவில்லை என்பதையறிந்து அன்றைய விழாவிலிருந்து தொடர்ந்து வந்த விழாக்களை ஒலி, ஒளி பதிவு செய்து வருகிறேன்.

ஒரு சுற்றுலா

வெகு நாடகளுக்குப்பின் ஒரு சுற்றுலா பயணம், ஒப்பிலியப்பன் கோவிலில் நடைபெற்ற செந்திலின் திருமணத்தை முன்னிட்டு கும்பகோணம் சென்று அங்கு இரண்டு நாட்களுக்கு மேல் தங்கி பல இடங்களை சுற்றி பார்த்தோம். இதில் சில இடங்கள் ஒவ்வொரு முறையும் கும்பகோணம் செல்லும் போதெல்லாம் தவறாமல் செல்லும் திருநாகேஸ்வரமும், திருவிடைமருதூரும் இம்முறையும் சென்றோம். எனக்கென்னவோ தஞ்சை பெரிய கோவிலைவிட இவ்விரு கோவில் களும் பெரும் மலைப்பைத்தரும்.

கல்வி கட்டணம்

கல்விக்கடன் பற்றி இன்று விஜய் டிவியில் நீயா நானா என்ற நிகழ்ச்சியில் விவாதம் நடைபெற்றது.

கல்விக்கடன் தேவையே கல்வி கட்டணம் அதிகரிக்கப்பட்டதுதான்.

இன்று அரசாங்கம் தனியார் கல்வி நிறுவனங்களை வளர்த்துவிட்டு அவற்றின் முதலாளிகளின் வருமானத்திற்காக கல்விக்கட்டணங்களையும் அதிகரிக்கச்செய்துள்ளன.

இந்த கல்வி வியாபாரிகள் தங்களது வருமானம் குறைவிலாமலிருக்க, அரசை இவர்கள் பயன்படுத்தும் ஒரு முறை தான் கல்விக்கடன். இவர்களால் பொது மக்களின் பணத்தை கட்டுப்பாடுகள் அதிகமின்றி திரும்பி வருவதற்கான முழுமையான உத்திரவாதம் இன்றி கல்வி கடன் வழங்கப்பட வலியுறுத்தப்படுகிறது.

கல்விக் கடனை ஊக்கப்படுத்தும் அரசு மற்றும் மற்ற அமைப்புகள் கல்விக் கட்டணங்கள் உயர்த்தப்படாமலிருக்கவோ அல்லது கல்வி கட்டணங்களை குறைக்கவோ முயற்சி செய்ய தவறுவது ஏன்?

கல்வி கடன் வழங்கப்பட கூடாது அல்லது கல்விகடன் தேவையில்லை என்பதை விட தேவையானவர்களுக்கு மட்டும் கல்விகடன் வழங்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்பது தான் வாதம். ஒருவருடத்திற்கு தனது குழந்தையின் கல்விக்கான செலவை எதிர்கொள்ள வழியில்லாதவர்களுக்கு இது போன்ற கல்வி கடன் அவசியம் வழங்கப்பட வேண்டும்.

தனது குழந்தையை மாதம் சில, பல ஆயிரம் பணம் வசூலிக்கும் தனியார் மெட்ரிக் பள்ளிகளில் படிக்க வைக்கும் வசதியுள்ளவர்கள், மெட்ரிக் பள்ளிகளின் கட்டணங்களுக்கு சிறிதளவே உயர்வான கல்லூரி கட்டணம் செலுத்த மட்டும் கடன் எதிர்பார்ப்பது எத்தகைய மனோபாவம் என்பது தெரியவில்லை.

எதையும் இலவசமாக பெற்றுவந்த இந்த மக்கள், இது நாள் வரை இலவசமாக பெற்றுக் கொண்டிருந்த கல்வி - இன்று கட்டணமயமானதை உணரமறந்து அல்லது மறுத்து - கல்வி முதலாளிகளின் கனவுகளை நிறைவேற்ற - கஜானாக்களை நிரப்ப - வங்கிகளை முற்றுகையிட்டு பொதுப்பணத்தில் இக்கல்வி முதலாளிகள் செழித்தோங்க வழிவகை செய்கின்றனர்.

இவற்றை மறந்து அரசும் சரி பெற்றோரும் தனியார் கல்வி நிறுவனங்களின் கட்டணங்களின் மீது ஒரு கட்டுப்பாடு கொண்டுவர முயற்சி செய்வது ஒரு நல்ல முயற்சியாக இருக்கும்.

ஏன் பேச முடியவில்லை

நேற்றும் இன்றும் அலுவலகத்தில் பயிற்சி வகுப்புகள் நடந்தன. நீண்ட நாடகளுக்குப்பின் நண்பர் விவேகானந்தனை சந்தித்தேன். பேசிக் களித்த நாட்கள் உடன் பணியாற்றிய காலங்கள் நினைவிலாடின, ஆனாலும் அதிகம் பேசிக்கொள்ள இருவருக்கும் போதிய அவகாசம் கிடைக்கவில்லை. சந்த்தித்த போது பல விஷயங்கள் பேச நினைத்தும் முடியவில்லை.

இப்பொழுது இப்பக்கத்தில் எழுதும் போது விவேக்கின் தமிழ் ஆர்வம் (அவர் அப்பா புலவர் திரு ஜனார்த்தனம் அவர்களிடமிருந்து கிடைக்கப் பெற்ற வரம்) மனதில் சரமிடுகிறது. நாடகங்கள் எழுதவும் நடிக்கவும் ஹூம்.... இப்பொழுது எப்படி கதை, நாடகம், நடிப்பு ஏதேனும் உண்டா கேட்கவும் இயலவில்லை.

விவேக்கையும் இவ்வலை உலகத்தில் உலவச்சொல்லியுள்ளேன் விரைவில் அவரின் பத்திகளும் வலைக்குள் உலாவரும்.

நானும் அவர்களானேன்

இங்கு இன்றும் நல்ல மழை, சென்ற வாரம் நான் குழந்தைகளுடன் குற்றாலம் சென்று வந்தது நினைவுக்கு வருகிறது.

குற்றாலம் மெயின் அருவிக்கு சென்று பார்த்து விட்டு திரும்பும் போது புலி அருவி செல்லலாம் என கோபி சொன்னான் புலி அருவி செல்லும் வழியில் திரும்பினோம் நல்ல மழை. அந்த திருப்பத்தில் இருந்த டீ கடையில் நாங்கள் மூவரும் சற்றே ஒதுங்கினோம்.

பேச்சினிடையே என் குழந்தைகளிடம் மலரும் நினைவுகளாக நான் மழையில் நனைந்து கொண்டு சைக்கிள் ஓட்டிய எனது அனுபவத்தை சொன்னேன்.

என் மகள், மகன் இருவருக்கும் உடனே ஆர்வம், மழையில் நனைந்து கொண்டே பயணம் செய்ய.

சிறிது யோசித்தேன் உடனே கோபி "அப்பா மழையில நனையிறதப்பத்தி ஒண்ணுமில்ல, ரொம்ப் போனா ஒரு ஊசி போட்டுக் கொள்ளலாம்" என்று சொன்னான்

அடுத்த நிமிடம் எங்கள் வண்டி தரையில் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருந்த நீரைக்கிழித்துக் கொண்டு ஓடத்தொட்ங்கியது குற்றாலத்திலிருந்து தென் காசி வீட்டு வசதி வாரியத்தை நோக்கி.

வண்டிமுன்னோக்கி நகர ஆரம்பித்த போதே மனம் பின்னோக்கி சென்றது. நண்பர்களுடன் அன்றைய நாட்களில் மழையில் நனைந்து கொண்டே சைக்கிளில் கடைய ந்ல்லூரிலிருந்து கிருஷணாபுரம் வரை (2 அ 3 கி.மீ தான்) சென்று வந்தது. யாருமே இல்லாத சாலையில் தனியிருவராய் நனைந்தபடி சத்தமாய் பேசிக் கொண்டு ம்ஹ்ம் இனி நினைத்து மட்டுமே பார்க்க முடியும்.....

வரும் வழியில் சாலையில் மனித நடமாட்டமே இல்லை குழந்தைகள் இரண்டும் குரல் வளத்தை சோதனையிட்டுக்கொண்டே வந்தன சந்தோஷத்தில்.

என் குழந்தைகள் இருவருக்கும் நல்ல அனுபவம், ரொம்ப சந்தோஷம்.
